~Elric, Edward~
Haunted by the past a nightmare that seems so unreal, I wish that I could turn back time and spare the pain that we both feel. I know we've changed and things will never be the same.

He is rather slim about the waist with a wide chest and shoulders, making for a sort of strong, stocky build. Still, he sports the automail Winry gave him in Amestris but keeps spares of the one’s his father made in case he outgrows them. Edward’s hair is long and golden, kept in high ponytail out of the way, defying the short, slick look of the period. His eyes are large and also golden, more like a cat’s than a human’s a pleasant compliment to deeply tanned skin from years wandering deserts. He usually dons an ivory button down shirt with arm bands and a tan vest over khaki coloured slacks.

~Overall Personality; Edward’s personality is often conflicting; his moods swing more than a pregnant woman’s. Ed is still a child at heart. He's quick to attack whenever anyone comments on his height inclinations. He frequently has fits of rage in these instances which usually result in one party or another being restrained, that party spoken of being mostly Ed himself. Ed is wise far beyond his years, even for the trauma he’s been through but more often than not he’s too emotional to put any of his acquired wisdom to use, which make for an interesting mental standing. Edward is immensely violent, though his morals are strong, and he is compassionate about them in every sense of the word.
Ed tries not to let anything hold him back except where his little brother is concerned. He feels guilty about the situation he’d led them into as children and because of it is protective to a fault. There is nothing in the world apart from –maybe- the value of human life in general that is more important to Ed than his brother and it is a failing of his.

~Full History;
Edward Elric's story began in February 1910, when he and Alphonse Elric , his younger brother, attempted to resurrect their dead mother by a forbidden act of alchemy: human transmutation. Unfortunately the attempt backfired, resulting in Alphonse losing his body and Ed his left leg, as well as bringing to life an inhuman monster. In order to save Al's soul, Ed sacrificed his right arm to bind Al's soul to a nearby suit of armor using knowledge he attained from this glimpse into the Gate [of Truth]. Unbeknownst to Ed at the time, he also gains the rare ability to perform transmutations without a circle.
In order to regain what they had lost, Ed and Al decided to search for the legendary Philosopher's Stone. To gain access to the vast amount of research and information on alchemy available only to State Alchemists, Ed and Al decided to take the notoriously difficult State Alchemist’s entrance exam. They stayed for a year in Central with Shou Tucker, the Sewing Life Alchemist, while studying for the exam.
After passing the alchemy exam, Edward and Alphonse set out to look for the Philosopher's Stone. Since the Stone allows the owner to bypass the laws of equivalent exchange, Ed and Al believed that locating the stone would enable them to regain what they have lost in their failed attempt to resurrect their mother. In an effort to help the Elric Brothers in this quest, Mustang issued orders to Edward to conduct an alchemic investigation into the Philosophers Stone, allowing Ed to use his position in the military to legitimately search for the stone without raising suspicion among other officers in the military.
Their search, though, remained ineffective, after searching for some time they had found the answer was buried in the sacrifice of human lives. Unwilling to use this method the brothers looked for other answers, along the way figuring out a deep plot veining through the group of Homunculi that roamed their country. Their part in his life led him eventually, once again to the town of Lior, his first militant assignment. Where, the State Alchemist assassin was planning on using a military attack on the town to create his own philosopher’s stone. The attempt this time is successful, only Ed’s brother ends up being the result, leading to his kidnapping by Dante and the homunculi.
Not long after, in his own desperate attempt to save Alphonse from being used as the philosopher’s stone Edward ended up being killed by the homunculus Envy in a duel for situation dominance. He ended up in a strange place called London, where he once more met his father Hohenhiem who explains what he can of the parallel between Edward’s world and our early 1900’s world. The Edward’s body he was trapped in during this time is killed in a zeppelin crash, allowing his soul to be returned to Amestris when Alphonse uses the stone to resurrect him. As another switch he ends up sacrificing himself once more to bring Alphonse back, both soul and body, the effort leaving him trapped in a country from the parallel world called Germany.
Two years have passed since Edward arrived in Munich, Germany. He had grown noticeably taller and for a while, he lived with Hohenhiem who equipped him with prosthetics based off automail technology. He later met and lived with a young man named Alfons Heiderich, who resembles his brother Al, for research in rocket fuel. Befriending a young woman named Noa, Ed found himself embroiled in a conspiracy by the Thule Society, bent on invading his own home world. Reunited with Alphonse and Winry once again, he was equipped with new automail and with Alphonse managed to defeat the Thule society but Edward had to cross the portal again to close it from the other side, saying good bye to Al and Roy. After crossing the portal, Ed found Noa holding Alfons' dead body, now finding out that Alphonse had managed to hide himself in a suit of armor almost identical to the one he was trapped in the anime.
After leaving Shamballa, for what he had supposed to be the last time Edward required some way to support himself and his brother, Alphonse's body being too young to allow him to obtain proper work. With his amazing knowledge of science and the basic understand of mechanics having lived with automail for a good part of his life, Edward managed to procure a job working for the company BMW on motorcycles. (BMW made aircraft for WWI and prior but after the treaty of Versailles it became illegal and they switched to motorcycles, automobiles came later in 1928.) It had become common rumor that there was something going on about the country, strange unexplainable disappearances and at first, he had been convinced it simply had to do with the state of the post war country. But after a while he became interested when some people began to show up without reason. The thought of any connection to home became nagging and he and Al began an investigation to the matters.
From then on I suppose it happens here.

~Other Miscellaneous Stuff~
~Roleplay Sample;
(Post one from Fullmetal Anarchy)
Edward took a deep breath, he had never been one to handle embarrassment well and humiliation, well, that was a whole different story. Nonetheless though he knew a when there was time for childish misbehavior and when it was time to buck up, square his shoulders and take a bitch slap like a man. That moment, just so happened to be one of those seeing as while he stood glowering a woman completely under the command of a man he was never quite sure he trusted had her own kind of complete control over what happened to his brother. Not that he suspected she would harm him, or Mustang would but whatever the case Alphonse was vulnerable and he knew he should be there despite his frustration.
The, of course, didn’t mean he wasn’t still angry and there was definitely an angry lilt to his quick gate as he strode from the room, shoulders squared just as in his own metaphor. The situation was not, under any definition, in his control, he realized as he looked to the young nurse behind the administration counter and wondered how on earth they planned to keep her mouth shut about their sudden departure. He supposed that part of it was not his concern at that point in time it was Lieutenant, pardon, Lieutenant Colonel Hawkeye’s (something was up as far as that was concerned) jurisdiction his only worry was to keep Alphonse safe and he knew there was no way to do that if he didn’t hurry. “damn it, all.” He grouched, picking up a little speed as he slammed the door aside and stepped into the brisk outside air.
Seeing Hawkeye again got his blood a bit hot but he resisted the urge to say anything, there would be a time and a place. For now what he could be indignant about was the fact that she’d put Alphonse in the front seat. Was she even thinking? What is she had to slam on the breaks for some reason? Al wasn’t currently in proper control of his body and if she was busy controlling the bloody vehicle she certainly wasn’t going to be paying attention to whether or not Al suffered a concussion from sudden impact with the dash!
Edward stomped from the exit, hands balled into fists at his sides. He was aware, on some level, that he was being a brat. Colonel Mustang had, usually, been rather good to him, stupid bastard that he was. But something about the abruptness of what had happened had him on edge with anxiety and confusion. Hawkeye had said it was for Al’s protection but no one was more worried about Alphonse’s safety that he was which was why he had tried so stubbornly to keep Al where he needed to be, in the hospital! Where doctors were constantly milling around, who at headquarters was going to do them a damn bit of good if there was a complication? No, there was definitely something else up and he was sure as hell not going to be pulled about by Mustang and his lackeys like a marionette, someone would tell him or he would find out himself.
Upon reaching the car Edward tugged the passenger side door open and leaned in pointedly, casting a small, reassuring smile in Al’s direction. “He’s sitting in back with me, I don’t care what kind of hurry you’re in from the high-and-mighty bastard, but first and foremost I’m here for Al, not fucking military command.” Edward hoped there would be little argument at least; he didn’t want to fight this woman because, no matter what, he wasn’t going to lose this one. Especially not in the long run.
~Anything Else; Edward can use alchemy without circles and still uses his automail from Amestris.[/font]
