~Pride~
I can't escape this hell
So many times I've tried
But I'm still caged inside
Somebody get me through this nightmare
I can't control myself
So what if you can see the darkest side of me
No one will ever change this animal I have become
Help me believe it's not the real me
Somebody help me tame this animal!
This animal, this animal

Sometimes he will wear it in a ponytail at the base of his neck, but rarely does he ever braid it (unless someone does it for him; he's far too lazy). Pride is fair skinned, slightly more pale then Edward, yet tan by most of the other Homunculi's standards. He wears clothes similar to what Envy wears; a black sarog over black shorts, along with an equally black shirt, gloves, and toeless/heelless socks. Unlike Envy, however, the glove on his right arm is far longer then his left; rising all the way up to just below the curve of his shoulder. There is a red line down the right glove that ends on the upper side of his hands in a circle, much like the gloves of the previous Lust and Gluttony. Sometimes he forgoes the sarog and shorts for a pair of leather pants, much like his 'incarnation' Edward Elric. The rest of his ensemble stays the same, however. His body is covered from the neck down in red markings reminescent of the transmutation circle used to make him. They are mostly on his torso and left arm and leg. His body type is slim and light, yet athletic and strong; especially for someone of his weight and height.

~Overall Personality; Pride and Edward are alike in a lot of ways, yet different in many more. One obvious one is that Pride loves milk, whereas Edward cannot stand it. Pride is somewhat stoic in nature, preferring to be both chess master and piece. He has taken on Envy's love of messing with and manipulating people, ironic because his relationship with the older Homunculus is very much one of love-hate. He is very strong-headed and if you do something he doesn't like, Pride won't hesitate to set you straight. It is hard to really anger Pride, though he is annoyed very easily. When one does get him mad, however, Pride will figuratively explode with and uncontrollable anger. As of yet, the only thing know to cause him to become this angry is repeated comparisons between him and Edward.
Pride has a habit of dozing off at all the wrong moments; sometimes he can be caught off guard in a situation like watching the stars at night or daydreaming whilel istening to the sounds of water. He also has a tendency to overthink things, which on one hand makes him an excellent strategist but on the other makes Pride appear somewhat OCD and neurotic.
Despite his cold nature, Pride is fairly hot-headed and witty, always having something to say. This is a trait he somewhat inherited from Edward, though Pride is a bit more tactful with it. Being born not that long after Edward was first flung to Earth five years ago, Prideh as had quite a bit of time to adjust to his life as a Homunculus. He has gained quite a few of Edwards memories, though they are hazy and disjointed at times. The odd thng is that he continues to share memories with Edward because his 'other half' is still alive, something that has not happened before. Pride can also be very restless at times, and will disappear without notice for days at a time.
~Character History~
~Current Town; Central
~Parents; Dante
~Siblings ; The other Sins
~Other Family; In a roundabout way, Edward and Alphonse Elric
~Pets; A black raven named Mondiale
~Full History; Pride was created by Dante shortly after Edward and Alphonse were thrown through the Gate to Earth. Dante had thought Edward dead, so attempted to bring him back to be one of her Homunculi 'children'. It is unknown why she chose him; if it was some leftover affection for Hohenheim, for his abilities, or simply to see Edward as one of her servant 'children'. But Pride was born only half-way, sucked back into the Gate instead of being fully 'born' because Dante had been wrong. Edward was still alive, and thus Pride could not rightfully exist. So the Gate took him back by force. He wandered through the space - rift - between worlds for four years. Because of this, like Wrath, Pride grew; yet unlike Wrath, Pride still retained his youthful appearance of about sixteen or seventeen. He tried every way to get out of the Gate, succeeding in nothing until one day...
Celeste Pavitra, sister of Luna Pavitra, attempted a Human transtmutation to bring back her sister. Her father body was taken along with Celete's right hand, her left leg, and one of her kidneys. Pride took the hand, leaving the rest for the festering, child-like hordes inside the Gate. He used it and the memories he had gained during those four years of life inside the Gate to force his way out much like Wrath had. He pushed through the Gate back to Amestris, right back to the spot where Dante had attempted to bring him back.
At first the others thought he was actually Edward Elric come back, and thus attacked him. But Dante and Envy saw the Oroborus on his arm and figured out that the transmutation from those four years ago had, in fact, worked. They took him in and Dante gave him the name Pride, a name befiting both his character and the character of Edward.
~Other Miscellaneous Stuff~
~Roleplay Sample;
"Sheesh... how can you honestly believe these things? Do you really believe that if you pray to God the dead will come back to life?" Where was he? Everything was so dark... so cold. There were flashes of light; fleeting, blurry images came swiftly one moment then left the next. It made His head ache, his body sweat...
Who was that boy that looked so much like him?
"Water: 35 Liters. Carbon: 20 Kg. Ammonia: 4 Liters. Lime: 1.5 Kg. Phosphorus: 800 g. Salt: 250 g. Saltpeter: 100 g. Sulfur: 80 g. Fluorine: 7.5 g. Iron: 5g. Silicon: 3 g. And 15 other elements in small quantities..." Who was speaking? That boy in red and black... with his face. The blonde hair, the golden eyes... sitting in a church with a book in hand. It first appeared to be a bible, but there was only a list and notes on Alchemy. On Human Transmutation. "That's the total chemical makeup of the average adult body. Modern science knows all of this, but there has never been a single example of successful human transmutation." Then what did that make him? Why couldn't he be human? Why couldn't he be real?! "It's like there's some missing ingredient... scientists have been trying to find it for hundreds of years, pouring tons of money into research, and to this day they don't have a theory." A soul... the missing ingredient was a human soul. Sure, they could feel... they had emotions, but it was a soul they lacked. What made them so different, so... inhuman. "They say science is a lost cause, but I think its better than sitting around praying and waiting for something to happen. For that matter, the elements found in a human being... is all junk that you can buy in any market on a child's allowance. Humans are pretty cheaply made." If they were so cheap, why couldn't he be one? Why was he born into this half-life? Why couldn't he be real, be whole, BE HUMAN?! Why... why...? Why...?! WHY?!
Dark violet eyes snapped open, their pupil straight and thin like a cat's. For a split second they stayed like that; but eventually the dark irises faded and became their normal deep gold. The pupil was all but gone, giving the young man who possessed them a somewhat hypnotized stare. His face was devoid of all emotion, staring down into a stream from his leafy perch. It was almost as if his face could not accurately portray the turmoil he felt inside.
What was that? A daydream; a memory? Of what... of who? That boy... the one who looked so identical to him... why did he dream of him? Edward Elric is still alive; these pervasive visions - memories - should have stopped long ago. But they kept coming; not just the past from before his birth either. The times after; another world, a woman named Noah, the Nazis... and his 'incarnations' return to Amestris. It was as if they were connected somehow.
"Like a red string of fate..." Pride murmured, closing his eyes and leaning back against the tree with a sigh. He raised his arm up above his head, spreading out his fingers to glance and the moon between them. His golden gaze slid down his arm slowly to the red Oroborus on his left shoulder. The mark of a Homunculus; his curse, his sin. The mark that showed he was not human; that he would never be a true human. A failure; incomplete.
Another frustrated sigh escaped him as Pride leapt from the leafy branch he had dozed off on. He landed with barely a sound, eyes partially closed as if in thought. It was getting late; he should head back lest Dante send Envy out looking for him again. Not that the older Homunculus would ever find him. Pride would only be found when and how he wanted.
With a small smirk now gracing his features, the blonde-haired Homunculus turned and strode back in the direction of the mansion. Anyone who saw him then would have remarked how much he walked like his counterpart. He walked a walk full of his sin; full of pride.[/font]
